Perfect Sight
Thursday, July 2nd, 2009It is said that spending time in front of the computer can be detrimental to your eyes, however, I used to spend almost 10 hours a day in front of it and have never had any problems. Some have started wearing glasses after only a couple of years of intensive computer use, but I’ve used it for over 10 years and my sight was perfect.
Since I was so proud of my perfect eye sight, I used to test it whenever I had the chance. I would either try to read the license plate of fast moving cars, or small texts, from far away. My friends, on the other hand, started warning me that my vision is bound to suffer, if I keep this up and not spend less time in front of the computer.
My parents were thinking the same thing as my friends and were telling me to do something else with my time. I decided to try jogging, and I looked online for the best things to buy, such as sneakers and an mp3 player. I also looked for the best time of the day to run. After having the necessary information, I finally started.
The equipment recommended online was great, and made jogging a pleasure. The Sansa c250 also helped keep my mind occupied, while running. Small and cheap, the player showed me that price doesn’t mean everything. It even sounded better than my PC, which really surprised me.
I currently have achieved a nice balance between jogging and sitting in front of the PC. I’m very happy with myself, and can clearly see that my body is in a much better shape than when I started jogging. My friends and parents have also told me that running has really helped me turn my life around. I love knowing that my health is getting better, but I don’t have to sacrifice my fun and enjoyment to be healthy. There’s a fantastic feeling knowing that!
