Discount Dental Plans vs Dental

Having healthy gums and teeth are essential components to being healthy overall, yet many people can’t keep their teeth and gums healthy because they can’t afford dental insurance.

Because dental insurance premiums and treatment costs have risen dramatically in recent years, dental care has become financially inaccessible to many people. It’s estimated that more than 108 million children and adults are without dental insurance in the United States.

A full coverage dental plan is one that includes all of the normal dental procedures that need to be performed. Usually they limit teeth cleaning to twice a year, but all other services are covered at varying rates. The best thing to do to keep your dental bill to a minimum is to take advantage of these twice yearly cleanings. By making sure your teeth are properly cleaned you can prevent problems that step from cavities, such as extraction of teeth and root canals.

Instead, more consumers and employers are looking toward the alternative of affordable dental care, which offer a discount on high-quality dental services.

Discount dental plans are hardly second class. They offer consumers the value they want with access to quality dental care that is now affordable thanks to the dental plan. They can pay a low price and choose their dentist as well.

Full coverage dental plans are designed to cover all of your basic dental needs as well as some minor dental care at an affordable price. They will not however, cover many more expensive procedures. Discount plans usually offer savings on what full coverage dental plans do not.

What exactly is covered by a full coverage plan?

• Basic procedures such as cleanings and x-rays.
• Fillings, bonding, caps, root canals, and other minor care with a small cost to you.

Many people make do with the thought that dental care ends at flossing and brushing well. But actually, this is not true. It is not a very well known fact but is proven that dental diseases have a direct link with other diseases. Dental diseases are common to humans, even young, healthy adults and they can easily affect the rest of the body in various ways. For example, some dental diseases are known to lead to other non-dental yet very serious health problems rather diseases like diabetes and even kidney infections.

When researching full coverage dental plans make sure you look at more expensive procedures just to be prepared, especially if you have children that may require braces when they are older. You will save money on your dental care in the long run.

Should You Get It? – Vision Insurance

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

Dental and vision insurance

At some point in everybody’s life there is going to be a need for corrective lens of some sort, whether they be glasses or contacts. As such it’s a good idea to look into and buy vision service plan insurance. Of course if this is provided for by the company you work for so much the better. Vision service plan insurance will generally cover the necessities of eye care leaving the cost of cosmetic enhancements up to the consumer to pay out of pocket.

Another thing that you should consider is buying a discount dental plan instead of a traditional for your health dental vision insurance. Discount dental plans are not health insurance plans. They offer generous discounts on routine dental care for visiting dentists within their network.

Most plans provide for an eye exam per year as well as lenses and frames for glasses or a set of contacts. Some plans can be set up with more coverage and a series of co payments. Coverage of getting glasses usually encompasses the following:.

1. Prescribing. The eye exam and resulting prescription are done.

2. Frame selection. Help is given in choosing frames.

3. Accuracy of lenses. Once the lenses have been made and placed in the glasses making sure they have been done to specifications.

4. Fitting. At the time of pickup making sure that the glasses are adjusted in keeping with the individual’s facial structure, this ensures proper vision.

5. Adjustments. This takes care of any subsequent need for adjustment due to general wear and tear.

Available vision insurance plans

Typically, when obtaining a vision insurance plan, you can choose from either a benefits package or a discount plan. In a benefits package, you usually pay an annual premium or a membership fee in exchange for eye care services. There will be yearly deductibles and co-pay each time you access a service. A discount plan, on the other hand, gives you access to eye care services at fixed discount rates after you pay a membership fee or annual premium and a deductible. Both types of plans can be customized according to your requirements whether as an individual or as a group.

If you’re in need of health dental vision insurance protection you should start off by getting a very affordable discount dental plan. This will take care of many of your immediate needs and save you a lot of money over time. After doing this then you can find an affordable health plan.

Ameriplan Helps Young Americans Maintain Their Fountain of Youth

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

They are young, healthy, fit, and looking forward to a long life of adventure. The medical and dental insurance industry even calls them ‘the young invincibles.’

According to CNN many young Americans are going without medical and dental insurance – 1 out of 3.It’s a very common place problem today. According to the Census Bureau 13.2 million young adults between the age of 20 and 29 are not covered by any medical insurance.2 million young americans ages 20 to 29 uninsured. It’s the fastest growing group of the 48 million uninsured Americans today.

For Utah’s Whitney Davis, it was all she could do to manage her Chronic Fatigue by exercising and taking Advil instead of the medicine required to relieve her fatigue and pain.

“I’m definitely working hard to increase my strength and keep my immune system right. The medical research shows that keeping fit and being in the gym or working out at home or just walking is the best thing you can do for yourself in the long run.”, says Davis.  Why? She didn’t have medical or dental or prescription coverage. Then she found Ameriplan® USA.

“Before Ameriplan I was buying expensive prescription drugs for cash every month. It was financially difficult on me”, she said.

According to Davis, she is a struggling college student trying to make her way through this recession. The lifeboat that keeps her afloat in the running waters of her fountain of youth is Ameriplan.

Davis testifies that “As a member of Ameriplan I get huge discounts on all the medical, dental, and prescription services I need. The prescriptions I need are usually 50% off the regular price and when I got to the dentist or doctor I usually get at least 50%, sometimes 80% discount depending on the service provided.  And the best thing about being an Ameriplan member – I only pay $39.95 every month for the whole package.  That I can afford.”

At a health care summit last week President Obama said, “Health care reform is no longer just a moral imperative, it is a fiscal imperative.”

We’ll see.Ameriplan is the company to look at for all your health care, medical, dental and prescription needs. As a member the fountain of youth won’t run dry.
