For large businesses, the PPO plan gives its employees access to a broad range of coverage at affordable prices. For individuals and families, PPOs provides a higher level of coverage if you use a participating dental provider.  Additionally, patients have freedom of choice in selecting a dentist from the CIGNA dental network.

CIGNA Dental DHMO Plan – Members are covered for most preventive services, such as exams, cleanings and, X-rays. In addition, members can select a participating paediatric dentist as a primary care dentist for dependent children. Some of the features of this plan include:

• No copayments required for most diagnostic and preventive services.
• The option of family members choosing their own network dentist.
• Second opinions available at no charge.

CIGNA Plus Savings Program – With around 76,000 participating providers, the CIGNA Plus Savings program is one of the largest discount dental networks in the country.  CIGNA states that on this plan, members save an average of 35 percent off some of the most commonly performed dental services, including X-rays, cleanings, crowns, root canals and braces.

How Does CIGNA Dental Coverage Work?

The CIGNA dental coverage option you elect determines how a program pays benefits for orthodontic services.  Obviously, you decide which dental coverage best suits your needs.  However CIGNA do advise that its plan will offer a higher level of coverage if you use a participating dental provider.
